The outrageous taxes on tobacco are repugant to me even though I don't smoke. Smokers should unite or else begin to grown their own. Vast agencies in government would cease to exist if people stopped smoking. Wonder where the next draconian taxes will hit--coca cola, and M&M's.

Finding a popular and competent Republican may be a challenge in 2012. Damsel and I keep asking ourselves 'How the hell did McCain get the nomination?'

We are, however, hopeful that 2010 will shift back to a more conservative Senate and House.

We just have to gird our loins in the meantime.

Not to mention the end of those Bush tax reductions on the horizon. In 6 months, there will be so much buyer's remorse, a competent republican will be a welcomed change.
